Cricket World Cup sends exciting waves across the world to all cricket lovers; especially when its India playing in semifinal against a mighty champion team, cricket fever is bound to take over. Same happened when our company management decided to organize screening of the crucial India VS Australia semifinal match at the office itself. Main idea behind encouraging this plan was to enable employees enjoy the match even while being at office. Our IT staff did a commendable job by making suitable arrangements for the giant screen with projector. The gigantic screen was oriented in a way to allow all employees to enjoy the match even while sitting comfortably at their workstations. The match started sharp 9 a.m in the morning and everyone was well in office before that. Many employees were wearing the team India T-shirt while some others had the Indian flag painted over their faces. Australia batted first and with every wicket taken by the Indian bowlers, there were applauds all around the floor. Aussies posted a mammoth target for team India which was quite achievable if the run rate was maintained without loosing wickets. However, unfortunately, what everyone expected could not turn into reality as Indian batsmen found it hard to tackle the Aussie bowling attack, thus losing wickets at regular intervals. While every boundary scored by Indian batsmen was being cheered, every falling wicket brought deep silence. Team India captain tried to put up a fight but unfortunately failed to sail the team across to a comfortable victory. Overall, the match was a bit disappointing for everyone as all expected India to give a tough fight back and win the match. However, win & loss is a part of the game and we understand that.
